Skinpen Microneedling

Microneedling has become one of the most popular facial treatments available. Minimally invasive, it offers huge benefits for the skin with little downtime. 

During your procedure, we will be using a device called Skinpen, the first ever FDA approved device for microneedling. 

It's a great alternative to more aggressive skin remodelling treatments such as some lasers, or deep chemical peels - and is a lot safer for darker skin types.

The Skinpen device uses 14 Japanese steel 32 gauge (very fine-slightly wider than a hair) needles working at a rate 7,000 RPM to create tiny, micro-injuries to the skin.  

When the skin registers that it is injured, it will go into overdrive producing collagen and elastin to repair the damage. When this happens, we are creating a controlled tissue injury. 

The result is a significant increase to collagen and elastin production, the breakdown and remodelling of scar tissue, reduction in fine lines, wrinkles, skin laxity and enlarged pores. 

Anti age growth factors - £65 per session
I would highly recommend adding these stem cell growth factors to your microneedling session, they will really help to accelerate results and speed up your healing process.

Growth factors are proteins that are naturally produced by skin cells and help to maintain homeostasis within the skin, keeping it alive and healthy. Growth factors which are applied to the skin, especially when microneedling, will help to promote healing, heal the skin barrier, growth of collagen and wound regeneration – essentially, they will encourage your skin to behave as if it’s younger!

Are there any optional add on's?

We have the option to numb you if you have a lower pain threshold. Without numbing, it can be uncomfortable but most clients manage without. 
I prefer not to numb for a few reasons, but the option is there should you really need it.

Does it hurt?

You can expect the redness to last 24-48 hours. By the end of this time, most of it would of subsided and your skin colour will be almost back to normal. 

You can expect the skin to feel a little like sunburn immediately post procedure. It will feel hot, tight, dry and a bit sore. 
This will only last 12 hours or so until that starts to subside. The following 3 days post procedure, you can expect your skin to feel quite dry and flakey.
